I recently had my PC rebuilt (software-wise), with Windows 7 replacing Windows XP; consequently, I had to reinstall all of my applications. A problem has surfaced in that I no longer seem to have 'Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere OLE DB Provider 9.0' available in the Provider: drop-down when trying to create a new Connection Manager for an SSIS package. The reason for using such an old version of Sybase is that this is the version utilized as the back-end by another of our applications, Micros (a retail POS system). I had previously loaded the developer's edition (unlimited free trial) on my PC. After the PC was rebuilt, I reinstalled the 64 bit version of the developer's edition, which I had stored on my network.
Are there any 32-bit or 64-bit ODBC drivers for ASA 9.0 for Windows OS's available for download? The download 'SQLAnywhere10_Windows_Developer_10.0.1.exe' is listed as 'SQL Anywhere 10.0.1 for Windows x86 and x64', which includes the x64 ODBC drivers. 64-bit ASA 9 ODBC drivers - sybase.sqlanywhere.general. Driver - Wikipedia. Hi Vlad, SQL Anywhere 9 (x86) will not include the x64 ODBC drivers. Only 32-bit applications will be able to use and access the ODBC driver. It sounds as if you're trying to load the 32-bit ODBC drivers into the 64-bit ODBC administrator -- meaning that your registry is not set up correctly.
Note that, unsurprisingly, I can no longer find these old versions on Sybase's website. I also have Sybase 'SQL Anywhere 9 for Windows x64' loaded on a Windows 2008 R2 server; on that box, the 'Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere OLE DB Provider 9.0' appears as an available provider. I have tried registering the 32 bit and 64 bit providers on my Windows 7 machine, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. I did so using the following commands: C: Windows SysWOW64regsvr32 'C: Program Files Sybase SQL Anywhere 9 win32 dboledb9.dll' C: Windows SysWOW64regsvr32 'C: Program Files Sybase SQL Anywhere 9 win32 dboledba9.dll' C: Windows SysWOW64cd C: regsvr32 'C: Program Files Sybase SQL Anywhere 9 x64 dboledb9.dll' C: regsvr32 'C: Program Files Sybase SQL Anywhere 9 x64 dboledba9.dll' All of the above reported successful registrations.
